She had a close relationship with her sisters, Marilyn and Delores, spending much time together. She created many keepsakes for her loved ones through her talents of sewing, quilting, crocheting knitting and gardening. LaVerna enjoyed cooking and baking and found much joy in caring for her family, especially her 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. They enjoyed playing cards and spending time wintering in Florida having spent more than 20 years making many memories with their Florida group of friends. LaVerna enjoyed traveling with Clinton and over the years had visited all 50 states covering 48 of them on their Harley. In 1993, Clinton and LaVerna moved to their present home in Prinsburg. LaVerna married her high school sweetheart, Clinton Gene Marcus, on Novemand the couple made their home on the family farmstead where they raised their three children, Darwin, Paula and Kyle. LaVerna attended Central Minnesota Christian School (Class of 1962) and was a baptized and professing member of First Christian Reformed Church of Prinsburg. LaVerna Marie was born on to Cornelius and Bernice (Wieberdink) Bonnema in Edwards Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota and was the youngest of their four children. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central Minnesota Christian School (CMCS) are preferred. 10, at the First Christian Reformed Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service.
